Empowering Drivers with Practical Skills
Oil and check Maintenance

Tyre checks/Tyre puncture Repair
This module covers tyre inspection techniques, fault identification, puncture assessment, and safe repair procedures to help maintain vehicle safety and roadworthiness.
For years, I drove without truly understanding my car. I relied on garages and mechanics for even the simplest things: tyre pressure, warning lights, topping up oil; often feeling unsure, intimidated, and sometimes even embarrassed to ask questions. I wanted to feel confident and capable, but I never found a place where I could learn these essential skills in a simple, supportive way. Over more than a decade of driving, that feeling never really went away until I decided to change it. With over 20 years of experience delivering courses (from technical training in electrical equipment to financial education and personal development) I’ve always been passionate about teaching. So when I finally learned the practical, everyday skills needed to look after a car, I realised something important: This is knowledge everyone should have: but so many people don’t.
Joanna Husak
The Workshop Lecturers
Working on cars since 1982, I learned the trade the proper way: hands-on, on the street, alongside my dad at a time when cars needed fixing more often than not. That real-world experience shaped a practical, no-nonsense approach that I still use today. After 14 years in engineering, I built a strong technical foundation to back up decades of hands-on knowledge. Cars have always been part of my life, and that experience shows in the way I work: straightforward, honest, and done right. Today, I focus on helping beginners and enthusiasts learn how to work on their own vehicles. I teach the skills, confidence, and understanding needed to take the fear out of car maintenance. Real experience. Clear teaching. No jargon: just the knowledge you need to get the job done
